The Grunwald company constantly improves the technical solutions in the sector of bulk cargoes carriage by the HCV class vehicles. Continuous development of the chassis design requires more effective solutions from the body producers. Grunwald engineers are confident that the future of construction and quarry transportation are the bodies made on the "half-pipe" technology.
Starting in 2013, the Grunwald company develops and demonstrates tipper superstructure with a semicircular cross-section of the body. To date, the company has the technical capabilities and technologies to install "half-pipe" superstructures on the 6x4, 6x6, 8x4, 8x6 and 8x8 chassis of world leading manufacturers.
Made by technology "half-pipe" bodies are more effective than other analogues in a number of basic parameters. Half-pipe body at a 30% lighter in comparison with box-type bodies. The semicircular section of the body accelerates the unloading of inert cargo. Thanks to the molded side walls, the semicircular body is more resistant to deformations and dents. The number of welds in the half-pipe body structure is less than 60%, which is an important parameter for assessing the manufacturability.
Body construction
Body volume from 16 to 22 cubic meters is made of HB 450 steel. The frame is made of high-strength steel, similar to the material of the chassis frame. Production of a frame from the steel, identical to a chassis frame allows to bring together their mechanical characteristics and to increase service life of the vehicle. The superstructure can be equipped with a body heating system wtih exhaust gases.
Hydraulic system
The superstructure is equipped with hydraulic equipment manufactured by Binotto or Hyva.
Equipment
Depending on the chassis configuration, the superstructure kit may include plastic fenders for the wheels, side protection, rear light protection, a folding anti-roll bar and a spare wheel mounting bracket on the front wall of the body.
Painting for severe conditions
The quality of the painting of Grunwald semitrailers meets the requirements of the ISO standard for severe climatic conditions. The key to long-term protection against corrosion – thorough preparation of surfaces before painting. Therefore, all steel parts are shot blasted twice. In the first stage, the metal undergoes a rough purification, the second stage blasting before painting is already fully assembled metal construction.
Painting is made by modern technology paints based on epoxy and polyurethane basis. All used materials are manufactured in Europe and of high quality that allows to use semitriler in harsh conditions. Quality control service controls all technological stages of the process.
