Steel dump semitrailers
А large-scale construction has become а bright symbol of the last decade: the huge volume of commercial real estate, a major international infrastructure projects, facilities for the Olympic games, new Federal roads, bridges and tunnels.
The volume of construction grows steadily, in the same way grows the volumes of transportation of bulk construction materials. Due to the natural depletion the career development moves further and further away from the big cities, distance of transportation is steadily increasing. Use the usual fleet of single dump trucks becomes unprofitable. Dump trucks are cost-effective only over short distances and small shipment volumes.
In these circumstances, carriers and owners of parks prefer to use more effective tipper semitrialers. The analysis of the experience of carriers shows that vehicles which were produced in Europe, are not always adequately adapted to the realities of Russian roads and have a high cost of ownership.
In 2008, the company Grunwald with the technical support of the Langendorf Company, under the joint brand Grunwald system Langendorf, launched the production of tipper semitrailers on its own production facilities.
The basis of the project is based on proven German technology. The constructors tried to insure the possible reliability and safety margin which are necessary for efficient operation in Russian road and climatic conditions.
The model range of Grunwald dump semitrailers is quite diverse. Management of transport companies has a possibility to choose versions mostly suitable for their specific activities. The customers have the possibility to order a dump semitrailer with the fifth wheel height from 1220 to 1480 mm. At the same time, the production program Grunwald Individual allows for significant design modifications and adaptation of semitrailers to specific purposes of their companies.
Grunwald semitrailers equipped with the half-round steel body of Half-pipe type, tilting by means of the hydraulic hoist, are very popular for transportations of bulk cargoes. Special Half-pipe body shape ensures quick unloading and prevents sticking of the goods.
The plant also manufactures the dump semitrailers with body space of 27, 31, 34 and 50 cubic meters. The first four-axle tipping semitrailer with body volume of 38cbm was developed and put into production in 2015.
In the fall of 2015 a new model of light tipper semitrailer with the body volume of 22 cubic meters was launched into serial production. With full weight up to 38.000 kg - the rated capacity of the new model is 31.500 kg. The tipper semitrailer of light series fully complies with the requirements of weight control in the terms of compliance with the established limits on the total mass and axial loads. The tare weight of a light tipper semitrailer complies with European manufacturers standards and does not exceed 6.500 kg.
Tipping body of half-round shape is made of steel 09Г2С, 6 (side) to 8 (underbody) mm thick. When the body is made of the high-quality abrasion-resistant steel HARDOX 450, the thickness of the underbody and sides is reduced to 5 and 7 mm respectively. The body is assembled of three parts welded overlapped without transverse joints that allows to avoid joints abrasion by abrasive goods. The rear body wall inclined at an angle of 15 degrees is fastened in its upper part on bearings and locked at the bottom by automatic locks. Hydraulic cylinder of HYVA manufacturer is used for body lifting.
The trailer bogie consists of three axles on which 6 wheels 385/65 R 22.5. by size are fastened on steel wheel disks. Heavy duty semitrailers with the volumes of bodies 36 and 38 cubic meters are equipped with a gable busbar.
The axles are equipped with maintenance-free tapered roller bearings BRW-SLO with the reinforced housing. Dual-line pneumatic brake system of WABCO or BPW bogie is automatically controlled and has all-wheel drive. The brake shoes used in it are furnished with asbestos-free linings, and the brake drums are closed with the protective housing. The brake system has a load cell and four-channel ABS and EBS system. The front axle of the bogie can be equipped with the hoisting device. It allows to drive on the roads without cargo on two axles and reduces the loading on axles by driving off-road.
The welded frame of the semitrailer is of reinforced design. It is based on two longitudinal side members made of Swedish low-alloy steel, which are connected by crossmembers and beams. Using Swedish and Finnish welding equipment, the frame is welded from both sides according to European standards. Major part welding works is executed by automatic and semiautomatic welding machines in the argon atmosphere that allows to achieve high strength properties of the welded joint in the wide range of the temperatures.
Electrical equipment system of the semitrailer designed for voltage of 24 V includes three-chamber rear lights, side lights and the backup light.
All steel parts of the semitrailer undergo shot-blasting treatment and are coated by primer before painting. Paint coating 200-300 micron thick is carried out by fast acrylic paint according to С4 ISO 12944 category for severe climatic conditions. The body color is at the buyer's choice. High quality control of assembly at all stages ensures the reliable and long-life use of Grunwald semitrailers. Welding of the walls and underbody from three parts overlapped without transverse joints, frame reinforced design, reinforced and improved shock-absorbers, use of component parts from the leading European manufacturers, allow Grunwald vehicles to excel many foreign similar vehicles in running qualities on the Russian roads.
